Tehran, Jakarta call for end to conflicts in Palestine

TEHRAN, Oct. 17 (MNA) – Reza Najafi, Iranian foreign minister for legal and international affairs, and Indonesian Minister of Law and Human Rights, Yasonna Laoly in a meeting called for an end to conflicts in Palestine.

Referring to the interactions and cooperation between Iran and Indonesia in international organizations and forums, Reza Najafi called for the strengthening of consultations between the two countries regarding important issues such as the Palestinian situation.

Yasonna Laoly emphasized the necessity of a ceasefire in the recent conflicts between the Zionist regime and the Palestinians.

During the meeting, the two sides also emphasized strengthening the legal and judicial cooperation between the two countries.

The meeting was held on the sidelines of the 61st Annual Meeting of the Asian-African Legal Consultative Organization (AALCO) in Bali.

Pointing to the existence of a number of Iranian nationals in Indonesian prisons, Najafi called for the cooperation of the two countries in dealing with their situation, especially the transfer of convicts to their respective countries.

Indonesia's minister also welcomed the strengthening of legal cooperation, emphasizing the good and friendly relations between the two countries.

Referring to the relevant laws and regulations, he announced his country's readiness to facilitate the affairs of Iranian prisoners in Indonesia.
